Gary McLeod's work makes use of photographs as pieces of visual information that explore and translate surroundings into something manageable. Each piece gathered represents a single moment taken while experiencing a subject, all of which are then brought together to articulate a perceived whole.

As their first project, Karton Kitap collaborated with the artist Gary McLeod to remix his photograph of Andover Road North from his series called "-nomy". Granted access to all 700 pieces originally gathered back in 2012, Karton Kitap set about looking for patterns and contrasts of their own within the material. The result is a unique book consisting of only one photograph albeit seen through the shifting gaze of the photographer and then 're-seen' through the eyes of the designers.

Gary McLeod records and accumulates observations of the landscape as if he crops out fragments from there. The pieces of visual information are then recombined digitally by hand to form a coherent but fragmented whole. Karton Kitap deconstructs this very photograph to reinterpret experience of artist's vantage point and offers a visual mapping for the reader.

The book is built around undefined yet metaphorically visible chapters in the pursuit of making relationships, contrasts and comparisons between the images. Thus, we portray a compact journey through this images made out of the original photograph
